I bought this in store and got to test it out. I had been using a mystic wand which was doing alright, but I wanted a little more umpf and durability. I was torn between the body wand and the hitachi. Since the store was out of hitachis and it seemed like the body wand was a bit quieter I went with the wand. The dial was an excellent add, and this is probably a very good hitachi competitor. Now, here's the but. Within 10 months of owning it, I started having big problems. It would heat up to the point where the blue rubber would melt. I enjoy having a decent amount of pressure on myself when using a vibrator but it seems as if the "neck" has too much give for my liking. Thankfully there is a one year warranty. This is probably the 10th vibrator I've broken so I'm probably doing something wrong. Just no idea what that is.

I require powerful stimulation to get off. So far Hitachi has been the only thing that could get me there. I went with the Body Wand to try to venture into new territory. In the store it actually felt more powerful than the Hitachi. But I don't really like how flexible the head is. It has more give than the Hitachi, which isn't a good thing for me. I need to press it really hard agaisnt myself on the highest setting, and when I do that it gets super loud. It's pretty quiet on the lower settings so I guess if you don't need a freaking power tool to get off like I do, it's probably awesome.

Do you like the Hitachi Magic Wand? This is basically the same thing- but better. It's got the same crazy-intense vibration you'd expect from something that plugs into the wall, but it's a little quieter, and it has a MUCH better range of control. Simple. Effective. If you like a LOT of vibration, this'll do the trick, with more finesse than the classic Hitachi.
