Intense tool to get the job done

We bought this for the times when I have a frustratingly hard time coming. (and realized we can use it for other things, too) Meds and Perimenopause are a terrible combination for someone who used to have NO problem with orgasm! At first, my dh was a little weirded out by it. The Hitachi definitely scared him, he thought it was "too big" and although I explained it was not insertable, the long handle as well as what I have read about the noise turned us off of it. So we ordered the Wahl. At first we only used it for back massages etc, and DH says it's fun, but he prefers my hands. It will be good for times when either of us wants a massage and the other has fibromyalgia or arthritis pain. (Oh, c'mon we aren't that old. We've had rough lives and we're kind of achy, like most people our age. (40s.....)) I recently tried it solo and the first time it took a LONG time, probably because I was trying EVERY attachment and couldn't concentrate ("hmm, a suction cup, no the point, no the bullet, the wavey attachment thingy, no the nubby thing.") The second time I tried it alone it was FAST, which is what I am looking for. I also kept panties on, and used it through material, this thing is STRONG and I didn't want to get too numbed out. I may continue to use it this way. It has only two speeds ("WOW" and "Holy Fu**") but that's okay and it's fun to alternate, but you may get a little numbed out, like I did. The vibrations are so strong that it can effect your labia, and your anus when focused on the clit, which is good for me (in fact some women may decide to not put it directly ON the clit, because it is so strong. I think you could put this thing on your LEG and it would still stim your clit!!!!) so it works very well, especially if you like lots of different stimulation places at once. Simply moving the head back and forth can stimulate different parts with different intensities. It DOES get hot. I mean actual heat. The handle part heats up, due to the motor going so fast. It scared me a little bit, because after the first time I had to put it away right away (someone at the door, JEEZ) and I had OCD fears that the thing was going to start on fire while it sat in the box hot. But, it didn't. It was cooled off by the time I got to check it. It is also pretty quiet. We have children and I really did't want to hear "Mama, what's that noise?" if someone is awake, when we are into it. The high speed is much louder, but the more you push it into your body, the less noise it seems to make. My only fear is that this is SO strong that I might get kind of "addicted" to the strength, but we've learned to use our toys in a way so that we make sure we often have "skin only" sex as to not become dependent on them. We haven't used this yet for couple sex, but I think if I have one of those times where it just ISN'T happening for me, this would be a good toy to bring out. My dh is more comfortable with phallic shaped toys, so the Boss Lady is our favorite for Couple Play. But, in a pinch I may suggest this. If not, it's good for just me, and for back rubs etc. All around, a good toy. We are pretty happy with it. The price was great.

The strong, silent type

This was a godsend back in the days when I was in college and living in an apartment with two roommates and paper-thin walls while taking Prozac. The antidepressants made it close to impossible to come by any other means than the Hitachi Magic Wand or this lovely Wahl coil vibe. I'd use the Hitachi when I was home alone, but more often than not, someone was in hearing range (there were tenants on the other floors who used the stairs right outside my bedroom door). This thing is intense, and heats up alarmingly if you take the "don't use longer than 20 minutes" instructions too seriously. It is so quiet that someone in the same room would not know it is on (so the 2-star noise rating is inaccurate in my experience). I always brought this home with me when visiting my parents, and later took it with me when I moved in with my aunt. The only way anyone would know that this had sexual uses is if they also shopped for it for said purpose - otherwise, it is incredibly innocuous-looking, and you WILL get away with saying it's for scalp massage or whatever. It does take a few uses to get used to the vibration style (although I should say that all the toys I've used took a few uses to get accustomed to - the movements of the Wahl are quiet different, though), and if you come easily with fingers/tongues/light vibes, this will probably be too much for you. Now that my meds have been changed, I find the Wahl simply irritating. I should point out that I bought mine in the mid to late 90s and it still works. Mine is white and really does look like a hand mixer!

After some use, the plastic shaft that fits into the metal seat melts or wears down and the shaft falls out. The older design had a fixed metal shaft for the placement of accessory tips. So, even though the rest of the machine lasts the most important part of it is doomed to failure. You must then purchase a new one.

This is amazing! I was looking for something to use during sex with my husband. I have a hard time achieving orgasm during intercourse...well this made light work of that. I tried it first on my own (the little nub attachment) and in literal seconds I was having a full scale orgasm! my favorite way to use it though is in the doggie style position with my husband penetrating me! It's amazing! This massager is virtually silent so if you have children, or people living with you it's not a problem (unless your a screamer) and it is extremely powerful, but not uncomfortably so. The attachments looked a little hard to me, but they aren't they are firm but soft. My only complaints are that it is a little bulky, and the attachments have nooks that can be difficult to clean. I feel though that those are a small price to pay! It's a good quality, cheaply priced mind blowing orgasm producing machine, and I am so glad I chose it. I can honestly say I am completely satisfied! ;) oh yeah it's a good back massager too!

when i use the vibration on my muscles, i can feel them relax. after using it on my whole body, i feel like i've just gotten accupuncture or something! it's a great stress relief tool. i've tried to use it in a "sexy" way a few times, and the attachments are just too hard of plastic. i did try it with the flat round attachment and a Tenga Egg to add a cushion, and that was actually really awesome.

I bought the little silicone nubby that you can find somewhere on site. Apologies for not remembering the name, but it's inexpensive and squishy, instead of being a somewhat hard plastic like the included heads. I find them too hard and in spite of it being fun to experiment with the different shapes, they're just too hard for me to enjoy.

With the squishy nub, which offers very targeted stimulation on my favorite side, it's pretty awesome and makes coming easy for me, with or without a partner. (I do have a preferred clit orientation! I have always wondered if most women do, just like people are right-or-left handed.)

The Wahl is very quiet, which I see other reviewers have mentioned. That's nice for when you'd like something subtle to take care of yourself when the roommate is home, or just don't want the distraction of the Hitachi's loud buzz during partner sex. I do have both the Wahl and the Hitachi Magic Wand, and I use both. I tend to prefer the Wahl for partner sex and the Hitachi for alone sex (though, of course, this can vary), but I use the Hitachi over panties and the Wahl direct. The levels of stimulation, in spite of them both being plug in vibes, are so different and differently targeted that I enjoy being able to switch between the two.

OMFG in love with this thing. Poor Wahly is used and abused, but refuses to let me down.
I come from a very conservative family (female sexual empowerment? what?), but I've always been a very sexual person. My family is always in and out of my room, in and out of my closets, so my #1 priority when buying a vibe was that it should be discreet. #2 was that it should be powerful. I need a lot of OOMPH to get going, more than most people, I think.
This was my very first vibrator purchase and I'm deliciously happy about it! Not only is Wahly discreet, he's also quiet. I hide it in my closet and no one suspects a thing. Even if they did find it, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't be able to guess what I do with it. :-) And thank goodness it comes with two settings--the first one never gets me off. But the second one!! Daaaaaaaayum. It leaves me shaking. I'm not kidding, I've had 20 in a row with this thing.
I use just one attachment (the one with the big point). I would try the others, but I'm a no frills kind of girl. I've had it for 1.5 years and the only problem I've had is that it heats up after the 5th orgasm. But at that point, I really can't blame it.

It is the best, and so far the only reliable, way I have found to masturbate. I use it alone or with other toys. I also use it with my male partner to increase both of our pleasures during intercourse, but it's difficult to find positions that work with its size and the fact that it needs to be plugged in. I have tried several other vibrators hoping to find something else that will have a similar effect, but without any luck. I bought my first one about 15 years ago and have only had to replace it twice and have put a lot of use on all of them. I have not tried some of the toys that are significantly more expensive, but I think I can state for a fact that cost to effectiveness this is one of the best products out there.

After 15+ years of faithful service my old Wahl has developed a short, and I'm going to replace it today. It's been stopping and starting fitfully, and I noticed a flash near the spot where the power cord meets the body of the vibrator. Sometimes it's almost too intense, but with custom attachments I've bought at Babeland, I've been able to adjust the intensity. Very quiet! Never fails.

I love this Wahl so much I could marry it. I swear just looking at the box makes me want to jump in the bed with it. The Wahl has 2 settings, the first a high buzzy vibration that is similar to the highest setting on most other vibrators. What the Wahl does differently is it's high setting, which I can only explain as "sitting on a jackhammer that's wobbling". I know that doesn't explain much, but that just means you need to experience it for yourself. Really, it's amazing.
