    the best book on butts

This is my favorite book on butt-fucking! It's very thorough, crystal clear, and sex-positive. The blue and yellow graphic design elements are really eye-pleasing. The book begins with some extensive mythbusting, so you can be educated with a completely open mind. Though queer sex is explicitly acknowledged, the book still uses gendered language, just providing a brief aside about why some people may use other terms for their anatomy (due to their gender identity). All erogenous zones in/around the genitals are described; I really appreciated that this information extended beyond just the anal area specifically.

You get lots of detailed communication tips (including a butt-specific yes/no/maybe list), a crash course in sex toys in general and some particularly butt-appropriate picks, plus an introduction to bondage. There's even an entire section on physical and emotional aftercare. I think this book is essential for anyone who's wanted to know what's with all the buzz about butts. Very beginner friendly, but I think even more advanced butt-play fans might learn a thing or two as well.

I like this as a beginner-friendly resource on anal sex. It's very conversational, accessible and has good visual aids. I found it fun to read, rather than feeling like I was reading a textbook. Some of the language is lackluster in terms of being trans-inclusive - they do make an effort, but don't quite hit the nail on the head. Otherwise, very informative and I learned a lot about anal pleasure!

        Informative, but definitely just "Basics"

        • Introduction To Anal

This book is really great! It starts off by busting myths about anal play, and continues to talk about lots of different fun kinds of anal play. The language used is inclusive of different bodies and genders, and the diagrams are playful and not graphic. It's designed in a way that makes it really easy to read, and not feel dense or boring. It definitely provides a great introduction to anal play.

That said, it's definitely not a comprehensive look at anal pleasure, and very cursorily brushes over subjects that it deems more "advanced" than the scope of a "basic" book would allow. Would be great to introduce a partner to anal play, or keep as a reference in sex education, but won't be of too much use to anyone already well versed in sex and anal play.
