Have you heard the buzz about Vibrator Nation?

Babeland is proud to be part of a group of pioneering feminists who changed the way we view sex toys and talk about sex. Beginning in the 1970's stores like Good Vibrations, and Eve's Garden opened the world of sex shops to women helping them find education and community along with lots and lots of orgasms.

Lynn Comella's new book, Vibrator Nation, details how this group of revolutionaries paved the way and supported one another as they built a new world of inclusive sex shops focused on women's pleasure. If you've ever wanted to know how the Magic Wand became THE Magic Wand, this is your book.

We're excited to be hosting an evening with Lynn at our Seattle store on Saturday, October 21st at 7 pm. Please join us for cocktails, stories, and sexy giveaways.

This is the first time the story of feminist sex shops has been told, and it’s from the mouths of the women who were there. Based on extensive interviews and research, Vibrator Nation has caught the attention of press and critics. Rolling Stone, Jezebel, and The Atlantic have all written pieces on the book shining a new light on the social and economic impact women-founded sex shops continue to have.

We can't wait for you to join us at this event. We’re excited to be part of this story and to have it told so thoroughly and eloquently. We'd like to express our gratitude to all the industrious women who created this movement and to all those who continue to provide sex-positive vibes for all. Thank you, Lynn, for sharing their history-making accomplishments.
