Reported as the most expensive porn ever made at 1 million dollars (considered low budget amongst the independent film world), and raking in heaps of awards at the AVN, Pirates might be the most talked about porn since the 70s. The frequency with which people have asked me if I've seen Pirates when I'm championing the merits of porn is probably close to 100% of the time, and it's been seven years since its release in 2005 (four since the release of the sequel which I've yet to see).

Pirates features a large cast of balloon boobs and strong chins, including Jesse Jane, Carmen Luvana, Janine Lindermulder, Devon, Jenaveve Jolie, Teagan Presley, and Evan Stone. Pirates somewhat follows the Hollywood blockbuster Pirates of the Caribbean in that there are characters intended to represent roles from Pirate of the Caribbean, alas there's no replacement for Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow. Someday, maybe, in that perfect world when mainstream film and porn merge into one industry it won't be a career ruining choice for the Johnny Depp's of the world to make porn, sadly, Pirates isn't that.

The most entertaining scenes aren't the sex scenes, but instead any time Evan Stone graces the screen as Captain Reynolds. He seems to be the only cast member that doesn't take himself too seriously. Even the highest budget porn film ever made still looks abysmally low budget, especially when you throw in period costumes and three-masted ships. Pirates is best watched for the belly laughs.This is the kind of porn you could share with a date over popcorn and soda, and not have to fear scaring them off. After all, laughing is an excellent aphrodisiac.

It is silly - they even tell you that up front in the write up. They have done the silly part pretty well, although let's face it these are not the best actors around, they actually did a decent job. There is some uneven delivery and at times it gets funny with the actor trying to keep it clear whether he is being funny or not, but it works. The sets and costumes are great. I thought the silicone factor was awfully high, lots of peroxide and roots. The sex was a mix of hot and just 'doing', but some was hot enough. Plot? There is one and it's funny. I admit to being incredibly picky, about most things, but this was worth the money. There are some choppy spots where editing got a little sloppy, but I've seen worse. What irritated me was that it seemed to cut into the hotter scenes - but maybe that's how they kept them that way. All in all I liked it and will be getting Stagnetti's Revenge next - This was a fun flick and we enjoyed it. My favorite scene was when.... well, when Serena says "Lick it!" I dug it.

Considering the reviews I thought this was one of the worst porn movies I have ever seen. It was embarrassing to watch. Not only was the dialogue stilted and and unrealistic, it was poorly acted. The girls all had blow up breasts which seem to be all we get in North America. It was not a hard porn movie nor was it one with a believable plot! It will be interesting to see if this review is shown-grin

We were pretty happy with this porn. We've heard a lot, a lot about this throughout the years, and we finally got around to watching it. When I watched it, I was honestly most surprised by the fact that it had so much humor. Evan Stone was featured in a very humorous role and he played it perfectly. The entire porn had a great plot which amazed me. The sex scenes were decently hot, but I honestly was more impressed by the plot. This made a perfect porn for us to watch with our friends and giggle at because it didn't really take itself too seriously. It realized it had a lot of humor to it, and while there was hot sex, it just wasn't all that uncomfortable to watch with friends. You know a porn has a great plot when you can purchase this porn without the sex scenes as just a regular movie. This is probably one of our favorite porns to watch for the plot.

This was fun to watch at a party when we had all had a few drinks in us, but we're all music students and we thought that the music made it more funny than anything else. I don't think we ever finished watching it . . .

This movie is definitely a monumental piece for the adult film industry, taking role playing and fantasy to new lengths but not too seriously, over all fun and very exciting, love the girl on girl action!!!!!

My boyfriend got this movie when it was released and we had a couple of viewing parties (as if it wasn't a porn) because the movie was so fantastic! I am not a fan of fake tits and there's plenty here, but all-in-all a fav of mine! Not my kind of porn to have fun with (too straight) but funny to watch!!

the acting, like most porns, wasn't exactly Hollywood material, but most of the sexy scenes were very intriguing. I'm usually bored with porns, mostly because the two partners usually seem to be only going through the motions, just to get a close-shot. HERE, with Pirates, the scenes are exotic, and BOTH partners seem heavily into the act... and not in the typical 'girl is just faking' way. its refreshing :-).

Fake tits abound in this movie, but there is one scene in which a female genuinely dominates a man--oh so rare in mainstream porn. The narrative is fun and ridiculous, but doesn't quite maintain one's interest for all of its four hour running time. It's a very straight movie. As usual, the women are far hotter than the men, and the one girl-on-girl scene is highly contrived. And I don't think there's a single attempt to portray genuine female orgasm. But it's highly polished, and it looks great, and it doesn't take itself too seriously. And some of the scenes are really hot . . .
