Ball of Fame Exhibit Honors Ben Wa Balls

Retail sales of Ben-Wa-style balls surpassed sales of golf balls in 2012 thanks to their steamy depiction in the erotic novel Fifty Shades of Grey. To honor this shift in the culture’s attention from outdoor sports to indoor sports, Babeland opened a “Ball of Fame” to house the growing collection.

Ask Rachel and Claire: Turning Fifty Shades Fantasies Into Reality

Q: My wife has read (and is now rereading) the Fifty Shades series. Rachel and Claire: Understood, and here’s what you need to know. Anastasia is a virgin who is surprised and delighted by her response to Christian’s authoritative sexuality. So the first order of business in recreating these scenes is taking on that dominant, demanding persona. Couple's Fun With the Mojowijo

Last fall we put out the call to our customers asking if anyone wanted to test and review the Mojowijo toys for us. We got a few lucky volunteers who were willing to put their pleasure on the line for the good of humanity and here's one of the reviews. LuckyInArizona did an interview with us about her experience trying out the His/Hers Mojowijo, the Pink G-Spot vibrator and the Black Ring toy.

Babeland: Please describe the toy a bit and what you expected it to do. Did the Mojowijo deliver?

LuckyInArozona: I love the bold magenta color and soft, yet firm, feel of the Pink G-Spot vibe, no hard plastic here. I liked the idea that it could be used in many different facets: solo, in the same room with a partner, and via Skype. The men’s version is black, which is a good manly color choice. The tip of the men’s Mojowijo is in the shape of the letter ‘C’ so he can wrap it around his erection. I really enjoyed the sight of him working the Mojowijo up and down his hard shaft. It is way more visually appealing than a pocket pussy, as you can see all of the action. Also, I am a voluptuous gal, and my short arms often make most sex toys hard to use, but with the extension of the Wii remote, I was laying back and enjoying myself, much more easily.

Sadly, neither one of us had an orgasm, BUT it was good foreplay. We both enjoyed watching each other, something he has seen before, but it was a new treat for me. Also, after installing the Bluetooth, we had to restart our computer. Every time we opened the Mojowijo software and each time we connected each player, it took our computer time to find/recognize the Bluetooth. So, you may have to try to connect each player a few times. Be patient. Also, at the top left of the software, you can adjust your settings. It does take a while for the vibration to die down after it is at full intensity, so give it time….best thing is to have fun!

Babeland: Good advice. It's a techie kind of toy. Any feedback for the vendor on how to improve the Mojowijo?

LuckyInArizona: Definitely add the chat room! And I would love a bigger curve upwards to hug the G-spot. The addition of a clitoral stimulator or more intense vibrations would be great, too!

Babeland: We'll pass those suggestions on. How would you rate this on a scale of 1-5 (one being horrid, 5 being great)?

LuckyInArizona: I would give this toy a 3. It didn’t produce gushing orgasms (as I mentioned I am on a quest to squirt), but it did warm us up quite nicely.

Babeland: And finally, most importantly, would you recommend the Mojowijo to a friend?

Test Driving the Mojowijo From Coast to Coast

A few months ago, we asked for volunteers to test the new Mojowijo toys. Four lucky customers were sent the Pink Mojowijo G-Spot vibe and the Black Mojowijo C-Ring and their reviews are coming in. Here's the first one from our wonderful customer, Leigh Ann.

I’m most of the way through a two-year stint on the East Coast for grad school, which is exciting. My sweetie stayed at home on the West Coast, which is less exciting. The long nights of studying and writing papers are even longer because of the distance, so there are times I really wish I could get in touch with my sweetie, and not just on the phone or via video chat.

Enter the Mojowijo, which the wonderful folks at Babeland let me try out and review. It’s a combination sex toy and Bluetooth device that can be used with a Nintendo Wii Remote to connect to a partner in the same room or via Skype. The idea is that long-distance partners can reach out and pleasure each other by controlling one or two devices via Skype. Given that, of course I was excited to test drive one!

Test drive is a good description, too. If the Mojowijo is a car, then from the front, it’s a sexy coupe with all the latest technology on the dashboard. It actually comes in two colors/shapes – a dark pink G-spot external vibrator, and a black modified cock-ring shape. They’re both made of velvety, high quality silicone with white plastic housing, accessories, and trim. I’m going to focus on the Pink G-Spot vibrator. In the box, there’s the toy itself, which takes two-AAA batteries, a small dial controller for solo play, and a larger controller for connecting the required (but not included) Wii Remote.

All the special features require the Wii Remote connector and Wii Remote to be attached, and that’s the first problem I had with the Mojowijo. I tend to prefer small toys – the Lelo Siri is my go-to here at school – and the Mojowijo is LONG when the remote is plugged in. Of course, if a partner is controlling it, you don’t have to do much more than hold it in place, but it still felt awkward to me when I used it inserted. I tried to vary my position, but honestly, I’m pretty much a lying-down-in-bed sort of sex toy person, and my wrist got a little tired sometimes. So, it’s a coupe from the front, but a station wagon in the back, I guess.

On the other hand, if I used it as an external vibrator centered on my clit, the longer handle wasn’t a problem; it was just easier to reach. That said, I had a problem with the stiffness of the silicone portion. The base feels solid, and the tip does, too, but the “neck” of the pink portion is hollow. As a result, it’s more flexible and bent when I put pressure on it. This happened when I tried to “bear down” on my clit, and also prevented me from putting pressure on my G-spot. If I were going to suggest a change to the creators of the Mojowijo, it would be to make the it more solid, or at least less flexible, to allow for more pressure.

So, it’s a sexy sports car of a vibrator – with one other little problem. It’s got the motor of a moped. Alright, this is embarrassing, but I’m just going to say it – I like BIG vibrations and I cannot lie. My at-home vibrator is a Wahl with a focused clit tip, which on a scale of 1-5 in intensity is a 5. Or maybe a 6. Anyway, the Mojowijo is powered with two AAA batteries, and the vibrations feel pretty diffuse. As a result, it’s a very *soft* vibrator. This was sad for me, because I could use it for hours without advancing much past a little aroused. I actually spent some time working with it as just a solo vibrator, trying to find a way I could orgasm with it, but it just would not happen. I guess that’s a second thing I’d like to see – more power, or maybe more focused.

As you can imagine, this made test driving it with a partner kind of sad in a way, because no matter how much we played with it, I couldn’t orgasm. I gave it a good try, too, both in person and over Skype. That second part was harder, because my WiFi would freeze up occasionally and my computer would lose the Skype connection, and I would be lying on my bed trying to get my WiFi working again, juggling a keyboard and a vibrator with a Wiimote… well, it was a liiiiiitle frustrating, I’ll tell you that. That wasn’t the Mojowijo’s fault, though.

In person, there were no WiFi problems and it worked as promised. However, the Wii Remotes you and your partner use have to be connected through a Bluetooth connection on a computer running Windows 7 – so keep that in mind. If your bedroom is also your computer room, or you have a laptop, that’s fine. If not, you’ll need to get creative.

And in the end, when we set it all up, it worked and it was cool – except that I’ll be honest; after months apart, when I was in the same room with my sweetie, I didn’t want to be holding Wii Remotes and playing remotely with each other. I wanted a more hands-on approach, if you know what I mean, especially since I still couldn’t get off with the Mojowijo alone. I got frustrated and just wanted …well, I was ready to set it aside after 20 minutes or so on both times we used it in person.

So, here’s my final analysis. The Mojowijo is definitely different from any other sex toy I’ve seen. In terms of long-distance play, I don’t know what else functions like this. It’s kind of cool being able to play with someone via Skype and have them play with you. The toy itself is a beautiful color and graceful shape – it matches my bedroom décor here at school! It feels like a luxury toy. If you like a light touch with your vibrations, you will probably love it – because it’s soft, diffuse, and very quiet. It does require a pretty specific set of tech to use fully – a Windows 7 or higher computer, one or two Wiimotes—but you don’t have to own a Wii, and most new computers will work.

That said, to be a good toy for me, it would need to have more power and a firmer feel. I will be interested to see what Mojowijo comes out with in the future, but for now, I’m a strong-vibrations woman, and the Mojowijo just wasn’t up to the task.

I give it a 4/5 for design, a 2/5 for strength, and a 3/5 over all. (babeland.com lists the Mojowijo with 3/5 stars for intensity.)
