The Fight for Marriage Rights

The gay rights movement took a whupping at the polls this November. The closely fought Prop 8 in California which revoked gay marriage rights passed with 52% of the vote.
 
In Arkansas voters prohibited adoption and foster parenting by unmarried people, including (and this was the target) gays and lesbians.
 
Propositions that define marriage as between one man and one woman passed in Florida and Arizona.
 
Our hearts are breaking for the children and families in Arkansas, the lesbians and gay men in California whose legal marriages are now in jeopardy, and the Floridians and Arizonans who were just given a preemptive slap in the face.
