How Do I Know It's an Orgasm?

Dear Rachel and Claire,
How do I know when I have had a orgasm?

--"?" about "O"

A:

Dear ?:

Technically, an orgasm is the involuntary contraction of the pelvic muscles releasing built up sexual tension, but it's not always obvious when it happens. People describe orgasm many different ways, but usually there is some sense of climax or release. It could feel like a burst of energy (and sometimes wetness), muscles contracting and releasing, floating, or feelings of warmth and love.

Rather than trying to figure out if you’ve had an orgasm, focus on whether or not you had a good time. Make pleasure your goal and you’ll probably get orgasms as a side effect.

And have fun!
