New to Strap Ons

Dear Rachel and Claire,
I need advice on buying a strap on and what goes with it. My partner and I would like to explore more sexual things with each other but it will be both our first time with any kind of toys. We are together eight years and have only been with each other so we are nervous about what to use.

A:

Strap-ons have two components, the harness and the dildo.  You want a tight fitting harness and a dildo that is not too big or too small but just right. Most of the harnesses Babeland sells are adjustable, so you can choose based on style and price. Dildo sizing is trickier, you have to go based on experience, which it sounds like you don’t have.  It’s better to err on the small side, if in doubt between two sizes, because if it’s too big, you won’t be able to use it.

We have three discounted harness/dildo combinations that you might like. The Babeland Beginners Strap-On Kit is inexpensive and is a good way to start exploring. If you’d rather start with a sexier harness and a bigger dildo, the Jaguar + Leo Kit is great.

And for a top of line VixSkin dildo (most lifelike feel) plus a comfortable fabric harness try the SpareParts Harness Combo. Or choose your components separately. The Mistress Dildo is a somewhat slender toy that a lot of newbies like.

Don’t forget the lube!
