This hot erotic documentary explores the sexualities of six different women, from industry stars like Joanna Angel and Ryan Keely to nubile newcomers like Lexi Bardot and Avy Lee Roth (yes, the daughter of Mr. California Girls himself). The women of The New Romantix are whole, empowered, sexy individuals who captivate viewers with their vivid confidence and beauty. Royale, who searched for his cast from among friends, industry professionals, and even women on the street, wanted to get to know his actors before he started shooting. Seeking out women with strength, self-possession, and an uninhibited, confident sexuality were key to getting the casting right. “I film women, not girls,” says Royale. “My favorite women growing up weren’t the cheerleaders – they were the tattooed, adventurer types. The people I shoot are the people I’d really like to hang out with – hip, edgy women who own themselves,” he says. “These are the Amelia Earharts, the Frida Kahlos of sexuality.”

Royale, whose short adult films have been featured in film festivals around the world, has a mission to make sex-positive films that connect with viewers--men, women, and couples--on every level. Says Royale of his work, “I definitely believe you can have beautiful, sexy adult films and at the same time be totally respectful of women.”
