Freestyle Vibrator: Interviews with DJ Mathematix, DJ Colby B, DJ Status Apparatus: Playlists for the Freestyle Vibrator
DJ Your Orgasm
Sex, DJs, and Rock 'n Roll with the Freestyle Vibrator from Babeland
Interviews with our Favorite DJs
You already know that the
Freestyle vibrator allows you to "DJ your orgasm" through its wireless, music-responsive vibrations, but what happens when professional DJs get their hands on this genius toy?
We gave
Freestyle vibrators to three of our favorite Seattle DJs:
and let them play around with their favorite beats so that we could pick their sexy, music-loving brains. (And get ideas for our own playlists, of course.)
Mellow hip-hop seduction
How would you sum up your DJing style? Quixotic.
How does music affect your sex life, and vice versa?
Music affects every part of my life, including sex—it sets a mood and helps me clear my mind. And a good experience in a club is a lot like sex, which I think anyone who's had a great night out dancing can relate to.
If you were stranded on a desert island with the Freestyle and one album, which album would it be and why?
DJ Shadow, Endtroducing—the beats are deep and almost hypnotic, which makes it a great match for the
Freestyle vibrator. And there aren’t a lot of lyrics—lyrics can be distracting for me during sex, and would get old fast on a desert island.
What type of music do you most like to use with the Freestyle vibrator? The
Freestyle responds really well to the deep, heavy beats and bass of mellow hip-hop. Lucky me, the Freestyle likes hip-hop as much as I do!
What’s your favorite thing about the Freestyle?
It's so pretty! And wireless! It's also really fun to pick out songs with another person, and then use it together…
Finally, what’s your dream playlist for use with the Freestyle?Auditorium—Mos Def

Giving ‘em what they need
How would you sum up your DJing style?
I play music I like—multi-genre, gig-dependent, what the crowd needs vs. what they want, current and old tracks, global-influenced, songs that make you move.
How does music affect your sex life, and vice versa? There’s a song for every event in life, including the sexual ones. When you play a song during sex, it can direct it, slow and mellow or hard and fast…
If you were stranded on a desert island with the Freestyle and one album, which album would it be and why?
I would hope for a mix CD of sorts, one that starts out mellow, has a gradual flow and encompasses many genres and tempos.
What type of music do you most like to use with the Freestyle vibrator?I’m into faster tracks with a lot of bass, but the
Freestyle vibrator responds mostly to the low-end of a song. So I had to work with more variation, which was fun.
What’s your favorite thing about the Freestyle? The wireless aspect is genius!
Finally, what’s your dream playlist for use with the Freestyle?Oh, this is like putting a kid in a candy store. Narrowing it down is impossible! My dream would be that the
Freestyle could sense what I needed and play accordingly. But until that day, here are a few tracks I had fun playing around with:
Headman—Dirt
MSTRKRFT feat. John Legend—Heartbreaker (12th Planet remix)
La Roux—Bulletproof
Jack Beats—UFO
Little Boots—Remedy (A1 Bassline remix)
Everything all the time
How would you sum up your DJing style?“I’ve got style…miles and miles…so much style that it’s wasted.” – Stephen Malkmus
How does music affect your sex life, and vice versa?Sex should always have a soundtrack, whether you’re sexing by yourself, or with a friend(s). The perfect playlist tailored to a sexual experience makes it unforgettable. And I’m more inclined to show off some sexy moves if I have a bangin’ song to twerk it to.
If you were stranded on a desert island with the Freestyle vibrator and one album, which album would it be and why? If I had to choose, I’d pick The Hits/The B Sides by Prince. He uses such a wide variety of instrumentation, which would provide for so much varied vibration and pulsation on the
Freestyle vibe.
What type of music do you most like to use with the Freestyle vibrator? The first time I used it, I set my iPod on shuffle so I could test out a variety of styles. The songs bounced from hip-hop to pop to jazz and electro to rock to folk to even a little bit of country. The varying frequencies, highs, and lows of each song gave me a great mixture of sensations—it’s the contrast and variation that I love!
What’s your favorite thing about the Freestyle? The
Freestyle vibe is all about two of my favorite things: music and sex. It’s like being at the club, anticipating the next great song, and getting the full-body experience.
