I had resigned myself to being a Hitachi gal for my remaining years. Make no mistake: The Hitachi will certainly not be leaving my toy collection any time soon; but I was on the look-out for something with more than two options, something a bit more quiet, something more portable, more sleek, more pleasing to the eye… something simply more.

Enter: The Delight.

Lovingly crafted by our Deutsche freunde at Fun Factory, the Delight combines both form and function. Its sinuous curve and luscious colors make for a pleasing objet d’art that begs to be kept on display; but the more discreet among us can simply click it away in its unassuming charging/travel case. Score one for design aesthetics.

Out of its case, and fully charged, the Delight vibrator cozies nicely into either your own or your partner’s hand; not too heavy, nor too light, the silky silicone and smooth plastic warm quickly to body temperature. Score two for materials; score three for ergonomics.

When turned on with a simple press of the lighted button (quite convenient for night-time play), this toy is quieter than most battery-operated models (and a nigh-purr when compared to the rumble of a plug-in), but still exhibits more than enough power to leave one’s hand tingling in anticipation. Score four for an unobtrusive thrum; score five for the promise of good things to come.

The Good Stuff

How will this tasty treat function when put to the test? The assertion that the Delight practically guides itself to the G-spot is no misnomer; the novice and afficionada alike will find that the curve slides in and finds the G-spot lickety-split, providing firm yet flexible stimulation. Score six for having the hunting done for you.

Once Delight is in place, vibration is eminent; the settings start off with a mere whisper of a vibe, which I find to be the perfect appetizer for a long session of onanism. The vibration is strongest in the solid silicone portion of the toy, but travels up the ingenious silicone strip, providing a less intense, yet still noticeable, amount of stimulation on vulva and clitoris. Score seven for multi-tasking.

The differences between vibration settings are subtle, yet noticeable, allowing for those long self-loving sessions to last even longer; or, one can simply skip the milder vibrations and go straight for the good stuff: The stronger vibrations (and this is coming from a Hitachi gal, mind you) are more than enough to get the job done. The vibrations rest directly on the G-spot, travel up the length of the toy, and really get going when one utilizes their PC muscles, or rocks up against the length of the toy, or… you name it; and for direct clitoral stimulation, placing either the length or tip of the solid silicone on the vulva and/or clitoris is an absolute dream. Score eight for versatility.

Upon running the gamut of vibration settings, there is still more to enjoy with Delight: Three varying pulse settings, designed specifically to ride with the natural waves of the female orgasm. Utilized internally, externally, or both, I can only describe it as thus: Score nine for Oh! My! God! (with a soupçon of toe-curling thrown in for good measure).

A Perfect Ten

Once the Delight vibrator has done its job (if it isn’t already evident, it will do its job- again and again), clean up is a breeze. Simply dampen a cloth with warm, soapy water, wipe clean, wipe again with a second damp cloth, and towel- or air-dry. Score ten for easy care and cleaning.
