I'm back from my visits to our various Babeland locations. I think people were a bit surprised that a Sex Educator from New York just dropped in on their lives, but it was great to see people at work, all with the same sex-positive goal.Our website center was terrific to see. All of those sex toys each in their labelled boxes, just waiting for someone to place an order for them. Everything we have was easily accessible and ready to go. It was amazing to have so much of one product in place at one time. Imagine seeing a huge box of Petal Rings! I couldn't help but marvel at the amount of pleasure that would occur with each of these toys.The staff for the website were all very friendly and it was fun to see where they work since it looks so different from the stores. I loved meeting our customer service people and knowing that they are answering the same questions I answer in the stores except they get to help people in Iowa and New Mexico and Georgia too.Then, it was on to Seattle, the first Babeland store. Just being in the place where it all began was very exciting. The store is organized a little differently than either of our New York stores and it was fun to see how things have changed and what things have remained the same. I also love seeing my favorite toys in new places. I'll always take time to greet the Blueberry Buzz or the Tex - they've become like old friends that I talk about too much.I also loved meeting the Sex Educators in Seattle. We traded tips and information for customers. I brought back some information for my fellow coworkers that they should find helpful. We also talked about our fantastic workshop programs. Seattle has some terrific events planned.We also talked about Babeland's plans for Pride (see Pride post) which are very exciting. And of course, what trip to Babeland would be complete without making a purchase? Even when you work there, there's always something fun to get. And, what better gift to give as a house guest than a trusty silver bullet?All-in-all, it was a fantastic trip. I hope that I can continue the connections I made as Babeland grows and we all work to help people have healthier, happier sex lives.
