littlegoldSex positive. Comfortable. Informative. These are all words I've heard used for Babeland. This week's New York Magazine has chosen "rewarding" as their descriptive word. I'll take that too.Of all of the many sex toy shops in New York City, only 3 made this list (the other two are Myla and the new Kiki de Montparnasse). All of the stores sound interesting but it's clear from the descriptions that at Babeland the focus is on education. Although I don't really agree with our description as "like a college bookstore", I can understand how the vibe (no pun intended) differs from a store designed to make you feel like you just walked into the Moulin Rouge or a Tea Hall with bras instead of biscuits. We really know what we're talking about and we want you to know it too.Upscale stores are exciting, enticing and sometimes very erotic. They don't always fit everyone's pocket book, however. I like to think that at Babeland, we really are aiming to have something for everyone, at any price level. It's nice to be able to drop in and buy something that will rumble you home without having to spend $300. That said, aren't 24K gold toys (pictured) fun?Have you been to Myla or Kiki de Montparnasse? One of our Babeland stores? What did you think? How do they compare? Let us know.
