layaspotOne of my favorite things about working at Babeland is watching someone fall in love with a toy that I also love. Sadie over at Lemondrop has recently discovered the Laya Spot and she is so happy...

O Your Own WayThe Laya Spot buzzes bliss in any number of positions. You can put the arch over your clit, move it around wherever feels good, or put one end inside you for shallow penetration.

Soft buttons marked plus and minus operate as the on/off switches, and they control the eight vibration levels, which go from barely noticeable (a light breeze on a 70-degree day) to medium intensity (wind that blows hair into your eyes).

Soft and Steady VibrationsAt top speed, this novelty purrs at about two-thirds the umph of the Hitachi Magic wand, so if you're used to industrial-strength massagers, the Laya Spot may be too tame. But if you prefer light stimulation over extreme oscillation, this might be your vibe of choice.

There are also three pulse settings: The first is a soft but steady flutter, the second is a faster version, and the last is quick throbs. To get to the pulses, you have to scroll through all eight vibration grades, which is a bummer if you like to save the concentrated quaking for last. But it's easy and takes only two to three seconds to remove the toy, push the buttons the way you need, and get to the pulsing. (To turn the Laya off, you press the minus button back down the eight levels.)

Earth-FriendlyOther pluses: The Laya Spot is made out of elastomer, which is latex- and phthalate-free, so it's a go for the allergic as well as those suspicious of plastic. And it's cute! There are no goofy/sinister animal faces and no scary veins. It's just a sleek, well-designed pleasure tool.

Couple notes: The Laya Spot is "splashproof" but not water resistant, so you shouldn't take it in the shower. I had the battery cap on as tightly as possible and still it was a little wet inside when I finished using it. When you clean this toy, make sure to take out the batteries first, and then let it air dry so all the moisture is out of the battery compartment before you use it again.

Bottom LineThe Laya Spot is an excellent clit vibe. It's not for women who need penetration or super-heavy-duty vibration, but it's perfect for gals who want an small, attractive, versatile toy. It's also for those who want a soft vibration; the first few stages are like the gentlest, most sensitive lover. The size and design make the Laya Spot a great first-time vibe (the holiday season is almost upon us!) and a nice step up from a standard bullet vibe.
