Since I didn't get to teach my workshop this weekend, I thought I'd bring you some of the highlights of what could have been here on the blog (I guess I have to get it out of me somehow)First, let's do a little bit of anatomy. All asses are basically the same. There are two anal sphincters which sit right up against the outside of the anus and then about an inch inside. Past that is the rectum which can vary in length but can be as long as 8-10 inches. Past that is the colon, where fecal matter is stored. But let's get back to those sphincters. The external sphincter is the one that you can control when, say, you've had too much coffee and there isn't a Starbucks in sight. The internal sphincter is autonomic. That means it runs on the same system as blinking and breathing. Why should you care? You should care because you can't control this part. If it's tense, tough luck. That's why it's especially important to go slowly so that you treat this sphincter muscle with all of the love and attention it deserves. It's a muscle after all. You wouldn't go from being a couch potato to running a marathon in one day so why would you put your ass through that? Slow and steady (with lots of lube) is the best way.

Butt plugs are a great way to help the sphincter muscles relax. If you get one that vibrates, that helps the muscles relax even more and also feels unbelievable. Try the
Little Flirt to start then work up to the
Ripple and the
Severin.Once you're inside, you've got that nice length of rectum to work with. If you really want to blow his mind, aim for the prostate. The prostate's job is to provide much of the fluid seen in ejaculate. It helps neutralize any uric acid in the urethra and helps guide sperm on their way to baby making (if they get that far). It also feels really great when stimulated. It's in about the same place as the G-Spot: 1-2 inches in toward the front of the body. It will feel kind of like an almond and it can sometimes be hard to find but once you do, just apply a gentle but firm pressure and see what happens. You can also use a nice curved toy like the
Pro-Touch or the
Clover Plug. There's also the
Aneros, for those who are really serious about their prostate play or the
PFun for those who like their prostate stimulation in stainless steel.Stay tuned for part three!
