Mary Roach wrote a book a few years back entitled Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers all about what happens to our bodies if we donate them to science and other adventures after we die. It was a phenomenal book; bizarre, but beautiful and touching as well as funny.I just found out that Mary recently finished another book called Bonk which is all about the history of sex research. Since Stiff was funny, I'm assuming this book (being about sex instead of death) will be downright hilarious. It clearly takes an adventurous soul to go visit fields of rotting bodies (not kidding) so it came as no surprise that part of Bonk involves the author herself as a research subject. The research is 4-D ultrasound technology that will depict sexual intercourse. Ie: what is really going on inside there? The scientist with the technology was having a hard time finding volunteers and so Mary and her husband stepped up for science. Check out her interview and a clip of the ultrasound below. Thanks Fleshbot for carrying the clip!
