Today is
World AIDS Day. I hope you wore a ribbon, made a donation or got tested. I hear from people all the time that causes such as HIV or reproductive rights seem overwhelming - everything is bad and there's nothing we can do. The small steps involved in writing a letter or making a phone call to a congressman or telling a friend can make a huge difference. Of course, deciding where to put your time and effort can be hard. That's why I love Babeland's
Sex Acts articles. Every month there's a new issue that you can take action on. It's not too much and it's always something important. Plus, usually there are several ways you can get involved so you can decide what works best for you. This month's Sex Act is about
abstinence only education. I
posted about this awhile back and I'm glad to see that Babeland is taking up the cause. I hope that with letters and phone calls, we can help remove this horrible policy. And if that doesn't work, we all have to go out in 2008 and vote for good people. Don't forget that previous month's
Sex Acts may not be fixed yet, so if you're just starting, you've got lots to do.So, use World AIDS Day to inspire you and get active!
