A while ago I had an idea for a video game that would teach people about their bodies and safer sex while having fun. I know next to nothing about video game development so it never really went anywhere but it looks like someone else beat me to the punch!
Zombie Cow and Channel 4 (in Britain) have just released their trailer for PRIVATES, a new side-scrolling reproductive health education video game for teenagers.
Privates is a platform twin-stick shooter in which you lead a teeny-tiny gang of condom-hatted marines as they delve into peoples? vaginas and bottoms and blast away at all manner of oozy, shouty monsters. It?s rude, funny, bitingly satirical and technically pretty accurate if you don?t count the tiny people or the germs with teeth.
The game will be a free PC download (coming soon) and also available on XBox360, though it will probably cost a bit of money. I can't wait to play the game myself to see what it's like. What do you think - can video games be good sex education tools? Here's the preview:httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yfY4YB1fBKs&feature=player_embedded
