Smegma is a harmless collectionof sweat and shedding cells, produced by both sexes, which provide someimmune protection as well. Normal routine hygiene, for both genders,addressesthis concern.Advocating circumcision of either gender to rid the body of smegma isill-informed 19th century medicine, and part of the larger mythologyused to sustain genital mutilations.
